    Energy, Matter and Form

By Phil Allen, Alastair Bearne, Roger Smith

    General Editor: Christopher Hills

Publisher: UNIVERSITY OF THE TREES PRESS (1979)

    Quote:

    From the back cover:

This decade has seen the emergence of a new attitude towards concepts outside the traditional framework of established science. Researchers throughout the Planet have now arried at a postive understaning of such phenomena as Telepathy, Pyramid Energy, Aura Fields and the vast potential of the human nervous system.

Here, the work of Christopher Hills, one of the foremost pioneers in New Age sciences, is interpreted for us in a practical way by three of his students.

This book shows us how to perform experiments that will open extraordinary dimensions of experience within our being. It bridges the continuously narrowing gap between the Mystical and the Scientific and transforms the view of one's individual reality through an esperiential approach to Bioenergetics, Yoga systems, Paraphysics, Radiesthesia, Ultrasonics and new steps to an Expanded Consciousness.

    Quote:

    From the back cover:

Take a Space Journey through the worlds that lie within you. Begin at "The Launching Pad" for an understanding of light and energy.  Then "Take Off" into the seven inner time/space dimensions that link you to everyone else. Move onto "The Voyage" to your real Self with action-packed games that expand your awareness. Learn how to develop "The Supersense". Sit in "The Love Seat", "Mirror". Send "Life Force", read auras, tune into people, and expand your imagination. Blow your mind into the Clear Light! Finally, in "The Landing", come down to earth to use many new skills forCreative Communication.

Hills' Theory of Consciousness: An Interpretation of Nuclear Evolution

Another classic from the 1970s blending Human Potential Movement exercises and methods with insights from Parapsychology and Philosophy. Christopher Hills, author of Supersensorics and considered the Father of Dowsing was also the Founder of the Univesity of the Trees. Robert Massy was one of his principal students.

    Quote:

    From the back cover:

For three years the author has practiced Hill's theory of consciousness as one of the many students of Christopher Hills working to achieve group consciousness. Concerned with enlightenment and increased perception through "Nuclear Evolution" this book illustrates a seekers subjective participation in the real life drama of self mastery. The student-teacher interplay provides an interesting perspective for all those involved in the New Age consciousness revolution and offers workable techniques for evolving an integrated and attuned understanding of who we really are.

During His Teaching Years, Avatar Adi Da undertook a vast, in-life “consideration” with His devotees, covering everything related to Spiritual life—from the most rudimentary matters to the most esoteric. One extremely important area of “consideration” as how to rightly relate to the most basic urges and activities of human life—what Avatar Adi Da describes as the realm of “money, food, and sex”. (By “money”, Avatar Adi Da means not only the earning and use of money itself, but the exercising of life-energy in general.)

In most religious traditions, an ascetical approach to these primal urges is recommended—in other words, desires related to “money, food, and sex” are to be minimized or denied. Avatar Adi Da took a different approach. When they are rightly engaged, ordinary human enjoyments are not a problem, not “sinful” or “anti-spiritual” in and of themselves. Indeed, the ascetical effort to “cut out” or (“cut down on”) such enjoyments is itself simply one of the possible variations on the ego’s impulse to manipulate the conditions of existence to its own benefit. Thus, the root-problem of human beings is not any particular activity or desire of the body-mind, but the ego itself—the governing presumption that one is a separate and independent entity attempting to counteract the inevitable suffering of embodied existence. Therefore, in living dialogue and experimentation with His devotees, Avatar Adi Da brought to light, in detail, exactly how the human functions of money (or life-energy), food, and sex can be rightly engaged, in a truly ego-transcending manner—an entirely life-positive and non-suppressive manner that is both pleasurable and supportive of the Spiritual process in His Company. Christopher Hills - Supersensonic Detectors
(Excerpt of Section III of Supersensonics in a clearer scan

The practical section of Christopher Hills massive magnum opus, and the reason he is often called "The Father of Dowsing," in a clearer, easier to read and more compact scan.

Contains details of Hills' theory of how supersensonic perception, used in dowsing, reading auras and other forms of psychic sensitivity, occur. How to cultivate sensitivity, enhance it through instruments such as pendulums, dowsing rods, shapes, magnets and other aids, and practical methods for interpretation of impressions.

Contains one of the most extensive reviews of the history and theories of dowsing and subtle energy sensitivity I've ever run across.

    Quote:

    Excerpt from page 576:

"The identification of a mysterious property of a sphere by Chaumery  and Belizal was called "negative green" because it was detected on the surf ace of a sphere at a point diametrically opposed to the position of "visible green" which Chaumery and Belizal called  "positive green" .   This negative green was also discovered by the earlier radiesthetists as "radiesthesia grey" which was the position on the Fundamental Ray Rosette test between  the positions of black and  white.  Therefore it was the ray of perfect disintegration on the Turenne disc.  The pendulum rotates clockwise over visible green and the pendulum with the same tuning when suspended over negative green disintegration or a source of radiation rotates anti-c lock wise."

    Supersensonic Instruments of Knowing
Catalog of Dowsing and Subtle Energy Instruments

This is a 1975 catalog of specialized pendulums, dowsing instruments and other subtle energy devices once sold by Christopher Hills' University of the Trees. The catalog includes detailed directions of the devices - some of which you may still find on Ebay or other sources - but even if you can't buy them, the book contains lots of information that might spark ideas for things you can build or have made. (Especially when used in combination with Section III of Hills' massive Supersensonics).

For instance, have you ever considered trying a pendulum made of blown glass and partially filled with mercury?  Lots of useful advice too.

    Quote:

    Excerpt from page 34:

"The pendulum is tuned to your personal vibration by allowing the thread to slip very loosely through the thumb and the forefinger until the pendulum appears to come "alive"  and rotate or oscillate. At this "alive" point, you make a knot in the thread because this is the string length suitable for you.  Another person using the same pendulum may find that resonance occurs at a different point of string length."

    Water Dowsing
    What Is Water Dowsing?
    How Did Water Dowsing Begin?
What Do Dowsers Believe About Ground Water?
What Does Science Say About Dowsing?
    How Does Ground Water Occur?
How Do Hydrologists Locate Ground Water?
Where Can I Find Out More About Water Dowsing and Ground Water?

One of the major responsibilities of the U.S. Geological Survey is to assess the quantity and quality of the Nation's surface-and ground-water supplies. The Survey's Water Resources Division, in cooperation with other Federal, State, and local agencies, maintains a nationwide hydrologic data network and carries out water-resource and hydrologic investigations.
Numerous general inquiries concerning water resources and hydrology are directed to the Survey, which has prepared a number of "popular publications" to help answer such requests. As part of that group of publications, this leaflet was prepared to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the subject of water dowsing and is not intended to make editorial comment on dowsing or its practitioners.

William E. Whittaker, PhD RPA - Grave Dowsing Reconsidered

    Quote:

After publicly discussing my doubts about the effectiveness of dowsing for graves (Whittaker
2005), several individuals that dowse for unmarked burials, or have witnessed it, encouraged me
to look further into the matter. They feel dowsing has been shown over and over to be an
effective way of locating unmarked graves, and it is an inexpensive alternative to the more
expensive and often ineffective geophysical methods such as radar or magnetometer survey.

At first glance, dowsing appears to be a good bargain; for virtually no cost, an entire cemetery
can be mapped out, with all of the graves lined up in neat rows and sometimes the burials can
even be designated male or female. This method seems to eliminate a great deal of headache and
heartache. Maintaining a cemetery often brings with it legal and social liabilities and obligations,
and many cemetery caretakers are glad to have such an apparently effective and useful tool,
especially since cemeteries or the governmental bodies that oversee them are often underfunded.
Add to this the reality that cemetery caretakers are often unpaid volunteers who do this work out
of a sense of community obligation and it becomes clear why dowsing is a method that remains
popular, and why many are reluctant to abandon the only remote-sensing instrument they can
    afford.

This book, written by a well-known scientist with a background in biophysics and biology brings together evidence from a range of disciplines to provide an acceptable explanation for the energetic exchanges that take place in all therapies. It addresses a growing interest in the field of mind-body medicine and the role of natural "energy forces" within the body in maintaining normal health and wellbeing. This in turn has lead to interest in how these energies or forces may be channelled to assist in healing and the restoration of normal health. MsSVig

Tom Graves & Liz Poraj-Wilczynska - The Disciplines of Dowsing

    Quote:

Dowsing is a core skill throughout the 'alternative' fields, especially in healing and in earth-mysteries studies - sensing patterns and energies in the landscape to extend our understanding of the past and provide practical value in the present. Yet whilst there are many introductory texts for beginners, there has been almost nothing that tackles the deeper disciplines of dowsing - the systematic practices and processes to take your skills beyond the beginner level. This book addresses that essential need. In a lighthearted, engaging and refreshingly open style, two of the most experienced dowsers in present-day earth-mysteries research - writer Tom Graves and archaeographer Liz Poraj-Wilczynska - explain what can and does go wrong in dowsing practice, and what to do to get it right. They guide you past the pitfalls that cause so many dowsing problems, and show you how to improve the reliability of your results. You'll explore how to: - use the Four Disciplines of Dowsing - artist, scientist, mystic and magician - switch between the disciplines in seamless practice - use psychology and physiology of perception to enhance your awareness - avoid the Seven Sins of Dubious Discipline - hype, newage and the like - know how, where, when and why to use, or not use, your dowsing skills This book also introduces a new technique of deviceless dowsing, using GPS technology to map intuitive sensings and their locations at any dowsing sites. Illustrated throughout with useful anecdotes and exercises, this is one book you'll want to keep close to hand whenever you use dowsing in your work.

Tom Graves - The Dowser's Workbook

    Quote:

Dowsing is a way of using your body’s own reflexes to interpret the world around you. By establishing what your reflex responses mean, it is possible to find hidden objects, to understand things more clearly, and to develop new and better ways of decision-making.

The dowser’s workbook is a complete step-by-step course through which the beginner can learn the ancient art of dowsing, and experience the benefits its practice can bring. Author Tom Graves, a leading modern authority in the field, uses over a hundred specially-designed systematic exercises to teach the techniques of dowsing. These will show you how to make and use simple tools, and more advanced routines that will help you refine and master your dowsing skills.

A manual which will appeal to dowsers of all levels, the workbook demonstrates how you can:

    * locate lost possessions and missing persons
    * dowse for underground water
    * pinpoint allergies and illnesses
    * predict the weather
    * confidently make vital decisions

Putting the exercises into practice, you’ll not only learn a skill that you can use in every part of your life – you’ll enter into a magical world of potential and possibility.

    Dreams Of Damanhur

The first and only documentary about the remarkable Federation of Damanhur. This intentional community is best known for it's enormous underground complex of temples.

       Directed by: Keith Busha
       Runtime: 1 hour 7 minutes
       Release year: 2010
       Studio: Obscura Films

This documentary is about a self-sustainable community in Italy with their own currency, off-grid power supply, parapsychology and paranormal research, spirituality, schooling, etc. e.g. one of the projects shown in the video is where they record musical interactions with plants. The Catholic church tried hard to destroy the project but somehow they survived it and got support from the Italian government. And the group has no guru, the person who started it some 30+ years ago calls himself the chauffeur of the community. More on the community can be found here: http://www.damanhur.org/

And here are some interesting http://www.damanhurwelcome.com/index.php/en/courses/our-cour... that they teach

This reminds somewhat of the Auroville in India, but since I haven't been to either I can't really compare...

I have been to Damanhur three times, the first in December of 2000. The Crea hadn't yet been constructed, and there were few visitors. I was speechless when I saw the Temples of Humankind for the first time, and still find it difficult--even after a third visit-- to effectively communicate about Damanhur. All I can say is, "You've got to see it . . . it's the eighth wonder of the world!" Damanhurians are, indeed, the busiest and most dedicated group of citizens I've ever met. It is very much like being in a bee hive. They are clearly on a creative mission. I was able to purchase a midi/synthesizer at Damanhur, so now my plants at home can sing. Fascinating! Damanhur is mysterious and almost unfathomable. It is a must-see. My mission in life is to recognize and be in touch with my own divine essence on a moment by moment basis as I move through the world, creating heaven on earth here and now. At our essence we are loving, peaceful, kind, compassionate, generous, joyous and wise. I am grateful to the Damanhurians for their willingness to push the envelope and explore possibilities. Thank you for making this film and for giving voice to so many of my own unexpressed thoughts and feelings.

When people come together, in the purest essence of love, with the intention to BE in the present moment and work as a community for the greater good of all, they are able to accomplish great things. This film proves that beautifully. I now consciously acknowledge there are so many more possibilities than anyone could ever imagine and I find myself living with this new perspective: What are the possibilities? We are indeed limitless. We are all able to get along as a society while protecting our planet and living happy, healthy, peaceful lives. Finding joy and bringing joy to others is our true purpose here on this earth. Fascinating in its scope, this must see film will touch you at a soul level, inspire your heart to open up to pure love and motivate your mind to think of all the possibilities so you will grow into your most authentic self. A parallel Hebrew-English critical edition of the two versions of the text.

From the Middle Ages until the present, the development of astrology among Jews was associated mainly with the name of Abraham Ibn Ezra (1089–1167). His scientific corpus deals with mathematics, astronomy, scientific instruments and tools, and the Jewish calendar; but especially with astrology. This volume is the first product of a larger enterprise—a scientific edition of all twelve Ibn Ezra’s astrological treatises—and offers a critical Hebrew text of the two versions of Ibn Ezra’s Sefer ha-Te'amim, the Book of Reasons, accompanied by an annotated translation and commentary. The two treatises presented here were designed by Ibn Ezra to offer “reasons”, “explanations”, or “meanings” of the raw astrological concepts formulated in the introduction to astrology that Ibn Ezra entitled Reshit Hokhmah (Beginning of Wisdom).
