Khenchen Thrangu - Vivid Awareness: The Mind Instructions of Khenpo Gangshar

Thanks to AndyJK for the original upload.

This PDF scan is much clearer, more compact, and a MOBI file is included.
    -----
In the summer of 1957, the revered Buddhist teacher and scholar Khenpo Gangshar foresaw the difficulties that would soon fall upon Tibet and began teaching in a startling new way that enabled all those who heard him to use the coming difficulties as the path of Dharma practice. The teaching consisted of the essential points of mahamudra and dzogchen, both view and practice, presented in a way that made them easy for anyone to use, even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche was one of the grateful recipients of these teachings, which he regards as among the most important he has ever been given. He transmits them here, for the benefit of all of us who strive to practice in challenging times. They include contemplations on the ephemeral nature of both joy and suffering, meditations for resting the mind, and guidance for cultivating equanimity in any situation.

    Review:

"These instructions are exceptionally concise and easy to follow. Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche received this distillation of the essential points of Mahamudra from the renowned master Khenpo Gangshar, and he credits them with saving his life. They could save your life too — giving you the tools to stabilize the mind even in the most terrifying and challenging of circumstances."
~ Pema Chödrön, author of Taking the Leap

    Review:

"'Vivid Awareness' presents Khenchen Thrangu's commentary on the famous Dzogchen/Mahamudra Master Khenpo Gangshar's texts "The Concise Mind Instructions Called Naturally Liberating Whatever You Meet", and "Naturally Liberating Whatever You Meet: Instructions to Guide You on the Profound Path".

The book also includes translations of both root texts. It is probably worth pointing out that the only previous source for English translations of these texts was 'The Crystal Cave' published by Rangjung Yeshe Publications. . .

The commentary is a compilation of teachings given by Khenchen on 4 occasions during 2007. This is among the very finest texts I have read on Mahamudra and Dzogchen. Both the commentary and root text present a progressive path of meditation on the Nature of Mind. There are short teachings on the common and uncommon preliminary practices, followed by a teaching on the special preliminary of the 'Analytical Meditation of the Pandita'. This essentially consists of looking into the mind and attempting to locate its dwelling place, an exercise that will allow one to directly encounter the emptiness of one's mind.

Following the preliminary teachings is a lengthy teaching on 'The Resting Meditation of a Kusulu'. This is the real heart of the book, and contains the oral instructions on Treckcho found in Dzogchen upadesha texts like Patrul Rinpoche's 'Clear Elucidation of the True Nature', and 'The Special Feature of the Wise and Glorious King'. For example, on p.122 'Don't pursue the past and don't invite the future. Simply rest naturally in the naked ordinary mind of the immediate present without trying to correct it or "re-place" it.', and on p. 125 'If you rest like that, your mind-essence is clear and expansive, vivid and naked, without any concerns about thought or recollection, joy, or pain. That is awareness (Rigpa).' These and other similar statements are clearly explained.

My favorite part of the book is the discussion of 'Taking our Life Situations as the Path'. This part of the book contains clear instructions on self-liberation of the emotions, taking sleep as the path, and even an interesting condensation of the instructions of 'Dark Practice' found in the Dzogchen Togal teachings. All the instructions are exceptionally clear, and one leaves the book with one's understanding of the nature of one's mind greatly clarified. Excellent!

Egypt captivates us like few other ancient civilizations - but what was it like to actually live there as an ordinary person 3,500 years ago? Egyptologist Dr Joann Fletcher goes on a fascinating journey in search of people like us, not the great Pharaohs but the ordinary people who built and populated this incredible ancient civilization, creating a remarkable way of life and an extraordinary way of death. These questions are explored through the histories of Kha and Meryt, an architect and his wife who lived just outside the Valley of the Kings. They left behind a treasure trove of information in their extraordinary tomb, full of objects from their lives and death; everything from make-up to death masks, loaves of bread to life-like figurines, even the tools Kha used at work in the royal tombs. Joann Fletcher uses this trove to travel into the remarkable world of these ancient Egyptians, both in life and the afterlife.

    Part 1: Life
Joann explores how people lived during this time, from the tightly packed houses and villages of the common people, to the clothes they wore and the food they ate. She discovers the ordinary Egyptians' love of poetry and their enthusiasm for interior design, as well as what it was like working in the most famous cemetery on Earth.

    Part 2: Death
This episode reveals a strange and mysterious world: the ancient Egyptian afterlife. To them life was just a dress rehearsal for the perfect afterlife they were trying to reach. Joann clambers into rarely visited tombs, explores a treasure trove of long-buried objects and examines spectacular mummies to discover just why the Egyptians spent a fortune preparing for death - and what they hoped to find when they got there. Here is a booklet where the Buddha’s own definitions of the Four Noble Truths and the Path are quoted and explained by the venerable author who, as a senior member of the Sangha (Order) in Burma, was both deeply learned and well practised in meditation. This handbook of the Noble Eightfold Path contains all the path-factors clearly described according to the most ancient Buddhist tradition, which has come down to us from the enlightened disciples of the Buddha to the great teachers of the present day in the Buddhist countries of Southeast Asia.

Now it only remains to thoroughly learn the definitions of the path-factors and, of course, to practise them. Then one will be competent to answer questions convincingly since one’s own conduct does not depart from Dhamma.

This work was written by the Venerable Mahathera Ledi Sayadaw in Burmese and was later translated into English by U Saw Tun Teik, an advocate in Rangoon. The Union Buddha Sasana Council issued this book after revision by their English Editorial Board in 1961, but due to later events in Burma it has long been hard to find.

In making it available once again this opportunity has been taken to rewrite it in a form more easily read by Western people, omitting most of the Pali words which are found in the first edition. Venerable Nyanaponika Mahathera encouraged me to take up this work, gave every helpful advice, and sent me his copy of the first edition to work on. Also, some sections from the venerable author’s Sammaditthi-dipani (The Manual of Right View) have been included in the revised edition. In places where the venerable author’s explanations are too brief some expansions of his statements have been added by the editor. MsSVig

    Hi fellow memberz !

This is my modest contribution to the occult scene.

Omega - Le Grand Livre des Pantacles [French]

"It is with great pleasure that I announce the publication of my first book in adobe pdf format: 'The Great Book of Pantacles'. An Apocryphal Rosicrucian Manuscript, having belonged to Manly Palmer Hall, largely inspired by the Greater Key Solomon"..

This book is the result of a long process. I tried at first to decipher the coded text of the manuscript, and in a second time, I translate the text decrypted French. The manuscript entitled "The Great Book of Pentacles" have belonged Manly Palmer Hall. the Grand Book of Pentacles was sold during an auction bid - as it is written on the first inner cover page: 'Key to the Rosicrucian Characters used in the book Pentacles - Lot 343 in the Hauser Sale, 16-18 (19) April? 1934 '. Numbering of manuscript has not been easy, considering the fact of the quality of DigiScan. a lot pages are missing. Wherever possible, I tried to put a semblance of order in the presentation of the manuscript. It is comprised from a small portion of the Greatzeer Key of Solomon, Book II. As the reader will realize the Pentacles have suffered many corruptions, partly due to poor understanding of the Hebrew language from the author of the manuscript .. I used two other manuscripts for comparison and find more informations. The first book is the Greater Keys of Solomon (Clavicula Salomonis - 1888) translated by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers. The second is Ms. Clavicle of Solomon, 'attributed' to Abraham Colorno
    (Ms Arsenal in 2348).

Sorry Folkz, my English suckz :-D

    Enjoy !

The Ten Commandments of Lucifer / The Satanic Credo in Three Creeds / The Master's Prayer in Six Articles / Of Lucifer's sacraments / Of Demons / Of Magic / Of the Responsibility of the Individual / Of Satan / And many relevant quotations taken from the different sources of Star of Azazel's literature.

The Catechism of Lucifer was written as a counter-gospel for the Evangelical Lutheran catechism, but in addition to this, it represents a Gnostic form of Satanism on its own. In this book is outlined the path out of worldliness, out of theology mortally wounded by its false theodicy, even out of humanity taken as something small-minded, powerless and petty. The Catechism of Lucifer is founded upon the idea that by hating the perverted picture made of God by the Christian doctrine, we may truly attain higher possibilities for our Spiritual development and Empowerment. On this demanding but beautiful and meaningful path we are led by our innermost potential of ingeniosity, the divine Master Lucifer.

The teachings within this books are not suitable for masses of animal men whose fears and aspirations bind them tightly to the mortal world of forms. They suit only the brave, the proud, the ones permeated by the breath of Master Satan, the ones for whom suffering and damnation as a price of their own ideals is not a sacrifice but rather a reward in this distorted world.

TheOccult.Bz GB Exclusive - Keep It Here

These recordings are amongst the most sophisticated that I have ever offered, and completely unlike other pathworkings you may have experienced in the past because each of these journeys involves specific initiatory challenges which must be faced and eventually mastered as a part of the experience. This will allow you to dramatically grow as you learn the Tree of Life experientially. These recordings are equal parts mystical, magical, and mythical, with an emphasis on real and practical transformation.

Using imagery and travel as evocative and invocative tools these recordings will help you open up to your own unique and mystical experiences. These guided meditations are steered in large part by your own inner path, your own inner visionary landscape, with signposts provided by me to specifically keep you on the path. Each experience with these pathworkings will be different, offering deeper and deeper layers of self-discovery each time you go through them.

These recordings focus on specific magical states of consciousness which also correspond with stages of inner development. It is possible to experience a sense of the state without having fully reached the related stage, but your experiences will be more and more powerful the more you work through these stages along your own initiatory journey. These recordings can be used as a major part of an active magical life, including other kinds of ritual, ceremonial initiation, meditation etc.

Each recording begins with a progressive relaxation and a Qabalistic invocation and then proceeds to guide you from the starting Sephirah along the Path in question and into the connected Sephirah. The experience of the second Sephirah will be somewhat colored by the path that you are working with involving progressively richer and fuller experiences with each path. You will notice that your experience of the second Sephirah becomes enriched by the progressive paths leading into it.

The paradigmatic map of the Tree of Life used for these recordings is that of the Golden Dawn, A.’. A.’., Aurum Solis, etc. This is not because it is the only model, but simply because it is the model with which I am most familiar. However, the specific work conducted along each path is completely unique to these programs. Many of these experiences will be quite new even to those who have been working with the New Hermetics for quite a while. The imagery in these workings is often largely Tarot related, but the focus is really on specific aspects of consciousness and awareness and the transformation into higher states of awareness.

A comprehensive survey of the Jewish mystical tradition

An indispensable guide to thousands of years of spiritual inquiry, The Kabbalistic Tradition features writings from a variety of literary forms-from the earliest biblical sources through twentieth-century studies-as well as practical information and practices for the modern reader. These selections concentrate on the three main areas of Kabbalistic creativity-the literature of Zohar, the Lurianic corpus, and the Chasidic mystical tradition. Alan Unterman's enlightening introduction examines the unique characteristics of the Kabbalah and places this volume in its proper historical and philosophical context. MsSVig

This collection of DVDs reflects Santos Bonacci's 30+ years of research into the ancient Holy Science of Astrotheology. His material explains how the language of astrology reflects the latest scientific discoveries with its simple Sine-Wave concept, that in its micro and macro fractals, affects the galaxies, Earth's seasons, human bodies and personalities - and ultimately all of creation!

The third of three in-depth lecture presentations examining the Prisca Theologia — the Ancient Theology.

Haoma and Harmaline:  The Botanical Identity of the Indo-Iranian Scared Hallucinogen, 'Soma' and its Legacy in Religion, Language, and Middle Eastern Folklore'.  By David Stophlet Flattery and Martin Schwartz.

Contents include:  Historical and Geographical Availability of Harmel, Ethnobotanic Continuity of Sauma in Iran, The Evidence of Zoroastrian Rituals, and more!   Fascinating, scientific account of hallucinogenic drugs.

Flattery & Schwartz use the Avesta as their primary source for considering the identity of soma/haoma (the two words are etymologically identical, the former coming from the Indian branch and the latter from the Iranian branch of Proto-Indo-Iranian). And from the Avesta, they place a particular emphasis on Yasna 9, 10, and 11... texts whose origins have been estimated to be some time roughly in the two centuries preceding the birth of Christ (which puts them at least a millennium later than the Vedas).
