Lama Choedak has combined his long awaited translation of
the Sacred Triple Tantra by Panchen Ngawang Choedak with
three fascinating chapters, adapted from his earlier sub-thesis
on the topic, which explore the hitherto unknown origin of
the Lamdre (lam 'bras) tradition in India. The Triple Tantra
contains the most esoteric oral teachings of Mahasiddha Virupa
according to the Hevajra Tantra.
For sincere students with a firm faith in Vajrayana teachings
and practices, who have received the full Lamdre teachings, this
is an indispensable book. As one of the first translations to
become available from the Sakyapa tradition, it will be greatly
appreciated by the ever expanding Tibetan Buddhist world.
Lama Choedak was born in Tibet and escaped to Nepal in
1959. In 1980 he completed twelve years of rigorous monastic
training including a three and a half year Lamdre retreat under
the tutorship of His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.
Lama Choedak has been teaching in the West for fifteen years
and is the author of the ground breaking book Lamdre: Dawn
of Enlightment. In 1987 he founded Sakya Losal Choe Dzong
in Canberra, Australia, and more recently established the
Rongton Buddhist Training College also in Canberra. MsSVig
