The first book of its kind, the Advanced Acupuncture Clinic Manual contains detailed protocols for the application of the Complement Channels of the Complete Acupuncture System: the Sinew, Luo, Divergent and Eight Extraordinary Vessels. Ann Cecil-Sterman is a long-time student of Dr. Jeffrey Yuen.

Hardcover, full color throughout, 466 pages, over one hundred drawings and diagrams, table of contents, fully indexed, theory of the Complement Channels, guides for diagnosis, needling techniques, step-by-step protocols for all Complement Channels, and much more.

Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation of the Yu Qing Huang Lao Pai and 26th generation ofthe Quan Zhen Long Men Pai wrote:

Acupuncture as a modality needs to expand its perspectives on how to provide greater wellness to those afflicted with chronic illness. While many are looking for more technological advances, Ann Cecil-Sterman has gone back into the vast historical teachings of the channel systems to unravel their mysteries so as to better serve our profession. Through her journey she has evolved into a skilled clinician whose insights will reveal, enhance and empower anyone studying Chinese medicine today.

Leon I. Hammer, M.D., Author of Dragon Rises, Red Bird Flies wrote:

This book is a necessary addition to the practice of Chinese medicine for each and every practitioner now and in the future. A very valuable and extremely detailed practical and informed documentation of the Sinew, Luo, Divergent and Eight Extraordinary Channels. The book offers a step by step detailed guide to the ontological purpose of each channel functioning to protect the vital organs from external and internal pathogens, the anatomy of these channels, the pathogenesis of their operation and therapeutic intervention. These are channels that have been largely overlooked in the TCM foreshortening of the true Chinese medicine that preceded the materialistic medicine that has dominated mainland China since 1950. The author makes a vital contribution by bringing the emotional life of the patient as a primary source of physiological disturbance to our attention.

Evan Rabinowitz, Director, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Maryland University of Integrative Health wrote:

This book gives one of the most complete visions of acupuncture available in the English language. It greatly expands the understanding of what acupuncture is capable of treating. It provides invaluable insights into the diagnosis and treatment of chronic degenerative disease and a most comprehensive vision of the acupuncture channels as the “warps” upon which human life is woven. Ann Cecil-Sterman elucidates the nature of each channel system’s unique treatment strategies, specific needle techniques and role in the overall dynamic balance of the body’s energies—not simply as secondary extensions of the twelve primary channels.

Steven Clavey, Author of Fluid Physiology and Pathology in Traditional Chinese Medicine wrote:

An extremely interesting text containing a wealth of information digested from the author’s studies with the well-known teacher Jeffrey Yuen, that provides answers to many of the questions which have plagued Western students of Chinese medicine for decades. Reading it, I found myself itching to take some of the unfamiliar aspects and test them out.

For many years, Ann Cecil-Sterman, MS, L.Ac, taught Advanced Clinical Observation and was a senior clinic supervisor at the School of Acupuncture which was founded by Dr. Jeffrey Yuen in 1997 at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City. Ann is currently an associate faculty member of the Chinese Herb program at the Maryland University of Integrative Health. She graduated from the Swedish Institute and is a long-time student of Dr. Yuen, having extensively studied acupuncture, diet, Chinese medical history, herbs, qigong, essential oils and philosophy with him across North America. Ann is the Director of The Classical Wellness Center in Manhattan where she practices acupuncture and teaches classes on advanced diagnosis, as well as the theory and application of Classical Chinese Medicine. Her patients—children and adults of all ages-come from all over the United States and regularly from Europe, Russia, Asia and Australia, presenting with chronic degenerative diseases, psychological issues, digestive disorders, organ failure or end-stage disease. Her practice features the Complement Channels of acupuncture, and is augmented with Classical Chinese dietary therapeutic guidance. She travels frequently to teach the application and methodology of the Complement Channels, and the art of pulse diagnosis.
