The word pratyabhijna means recognition. All individuals are divine, but they have forgotten their real nature and are identified with their psycho-physical mechanisms. This teaching is meant to enable them to recognize their real nature. It offers the spiritual practice through which they can realize their true Selves.

This book occupies the same place in Saiva or Trika literature that Vedantasara does in Vedanta. It avoids all polemics and gives a succinct form for the main tenents of the Pratyabhijna system.

    About the Author

Ksemaraja lived in Tenth Century Shrinagar. He was the brilliant student of the great Abhinavagupta who was a peerless master of tantra, yoga, philosophy, and poetics. In addition to Pratyabhijnahrdayam, Ksemaraja wrote Spandasandoha, Spandanirnaya, Svacchandoddyota, Netroddyota, Vijnnabhairavoddyota, Sivasutra-vimarsaini, Stavacinmanka, Parapravesaika, and Tattvasandoha.

Book 75 or The Perfect Black Flame

    by J. J. Barker

Book 75 offers a bulleted step by step walk through of one of the most famous yet most often over looked occult book: Initiation into Hermetics by Franz Bardon. The original manuscript was full of great information for the development of the mind and Will but on many occasions run together and often hard to follow. The author of Book 75 has re-engineered the text making the steps more defined and reworked it towards a more Left Hand Path sentiment. As Initiation into Hermetics was dedicated to the traditional first Tarot card the author has dedicated this text to the First Luciferian Tarot card created by writer Michael Ford and artist Nico Claux. Introduction by Michael Ford and edited by Lillyn Ármány.

    The Golden Book of Wisdom

    by Seila Orienta -

    Foreword

The first step of creating this book came into fruition at a meeting in Prague with Bardon’s favourite student, Dr. MK.  My friend Anion gave Dr. MK a gift of a crow quill pen while asking him if he would write a description of the 4th Tarot Card.  Dr. M.K.’s words were: “you could write it yourself! You are qualified to do so, aren’t you?”

For my friend and mentor, these words meant a direct commission to write this book. The fact that he is truly qualified since his writing style is identical to Bardon's. Every true and advanced hermetic magician, such as Seila Orienta, is enabled to accurately read the works of Master Arion in the Akasha Chronicles.  The theosophist Franz Hartmann describes the procedure of reading in the Akashic Chronicles in his book  “An Adventure amongst Rosicrucians.”

I wish the reader much joy and success in gathering the wealth of knowledge contained within the pages of this book.

    Amazon.com Review

Meditation "is an ageless human experience that has been discovered and explored and used in every period and every culture that we know about," writes Lawrence LeShan, a psychotherapist and scholar. LeShan discusses the psychological and physiological effects of meditation, why meditation has these effects, and different types (or "paths") of meditation. To get the feel of it, he suggests starting with 15 minutes of breath counting--harder than it sounds. "The road of meditation is not an easy one," says LeShan. "The first shock of surprise comes when we realize how undisciplined our mind really is; how it refuses to do the bidding of our will." He gives detailed instructions for several meditations of different types and guidelines for choosing a program and a teacher. This is not a snappy "five minutes to perfect meditations" or a promise of "read this book, achieve instant peace." Rather, How to Meditate is a serious, thoughtful book. "In this most serious area--inner development--we are interested in evolution, which is stable, rather than revolution, which is not," says LeShan. You will see changes, he promises, but gradually. This is the new edition of the classic that has been teaching people to meditate since 1974. How wonderful that How to Meditate has been reissued, giving another generation the benefit of LeShan's work and guidance. --Joan Price.

    Biography

Lawrence LeShan published his first professional paper in 1942. Since then he has authored over 150 papers and 20 books, which have been translated into 19 languages. He holds a PhD in Human development from the University of Chicago, has taught at various universities and has lectured and given seminars widely in this country, Europe and elsewhere. He has worked as a research psychologist for over 60 years including six years as a psychologist in the U.S. Army.

This is a much improved scan of the doc previously uploaded here (one of the essays):
    http://theoccult.bz/details.php?id=25513

This essay is about the goddess Kubjika. The cult of this obscure goddess compared with that of the much better known goddess Kali, and references are occasionally provided to the goddess Tripura. The latter, like Kubjika, figures prominently right from the start of her history in the Sakta Kaula Tantras, the former emerges initially in the Bhairava Tantras but soon becomes a member of the Kaula pantheon. For those interested in Nepalese studies an important common feature of these three goddesses and their ectypes is the central position they have held for several centuries in the esoteric Tantrism of high-caste Hindu Newars as their lineage (kula) deities. Thus the aim of this paper is twofold. One is to present a general overview of some salient features of the typology ot these forms of the sacred. The other is to present a brief introduction to Newar Saktism as the context in which the goddess Kubjika has been worshipped for most of her history. "Mark S. G. Dyczkowski ist es gelungen, mit dieser zunachst kurz gehaltenen Arbeit eine erste, grundlegende Darstellung des esoterischen Kubijka-Kults vorzulegena" Indo-Iranian Journal. (Franz Steiner 2001)

    Biography

Baba Hari Dass was initiated in the Vairagi Vaishnava order in 1942 by Baba Raghubar Dassji Maharaj, a renunciate and Sanskrit scholar. Baba Hari Dass has practiced continual silence since 1952, and has developed a deep understanding and compassion for the human condition. Born in a village near Almora, India, he was classically trained in the authentic traditions of yoga that have been passed from guru to disciple over thousands of years. Babaji teaches through writing and by example. Babaji and his teachings have inspired several yoga centers and children's schools. Baba Hari Dass receives no money from the sale of his books; his publications are dedicated instead to the needy and homeless children of India.

Ashtanga Yoga Primer By urmila on October 17, 2001

The Yoga Primer has served as an inspiration and light to my yoga practice for the past 20 years. It is a rare and precious offering from a true yoga master that goes to the pure heart of the essence of the 8 limbed path. As a shining example of karma yoga, all proceeds from the sale of this book (and all books by Baba Hari Dass) go to support an orphanage in India. This gem of a book offers teachings on many aspects of yoga practice. It has great photos and some of the best descriptions of asana benefits that I have read anywhere. It further teaches extensive practices that support asana practice such as shat karmas (internal cleansing) and mudras (exercises to raise the kundalini energy). The section on chakras clearly defines the path kundalini takes as it rises. One section is devoted to pranayamas which not only help with the ultimate aim of quieting the mind so it can rest in it's true nature of peace, but also reduce negative emotions and increase the prana (subltle air) which uplifts the mind and enrgizes the body. For the devotional types, there is a lovely description of arati and graceful hand mudras to enhance the worship aspect of your practice. All in all, a joy to have, a guide and companion on the path, and a great gift. My family and friends have enjoyed receiving it for a few generations now. Blessings on your way!om shanti om,Urmila

    Po-Wei Ch'In - A Qin Bowei Anthology:
Clinical Essays by Master Physician Qin Bowei

Charles Chace (Translator) , Zhang Ting Liang (Translator)

The Qin Bowei Anthology makes the clinical experience, observations, and logic of one of modern China's most often-studied clinicians available to Western readers.

Qin Bowei (1901-1970) was one of the most respected physicians of twentieth-century China. He was an outspoken advocate for Chinese traditional medicine when the Chinese government resolved to abolish it in 1929; a Minister of Health for the People's Republic; a teacher of traditional medicine as it is taught in China today. He was one of China's post-revolutionary heroes, a man whose contributions to medicine were a social accomplishment of lasting force.

This anthology is a uniquely valuable collection of Qin Bowei's clinical essays. The topics covered include liver disorders and measures for treating fever, cough and swelling. These are presented at a level of detail rarely found in a Western language. His discussions of Ming Men and supplementation reveal the logic of T.C.M. with equal depth. Each of his theses is complete with clinical examples, cases, and formulas.

Among the traditional philosophies and schools of Hinduism, the idea of the identity between macrocosm and microcosm is prominent in classical Advaita Vedanta as well as in the more colourful and popular Tantric systems. This study centers upon the development and expression of the idea in the more philosophical aspects of Tantric Hinduism.

In the tradition of the original "spell book" texts, Boudica presents us with 21 spells that combines story, spellwork and personal experience. Focusing on spells for success, Boudica focuses on business women, working women for whom she has done successful spellworkings. Spells included are how to get an interview, how to handle disagreeable managers, house selling spells and how to gain advantages over competitors. Boudica has worked not just with pagans but also with others of various faiths, so the workings are diverse and will fit nicely into any spiritual belief system. How successful can you be? How successful do you want to be? Boudica shows you that if you put your mind to the task and do your part, Deity can give you that extra push to a successful job, promotion or contract.

In his early lecture courses, Martin Heidegger exhibited an abiding interest in human life. He believed that human life has philosophical import while it is actually being lived; language has philosophical import while it is being spoken. In this book, Scott Campbell traces the development of Heidegger's ideas about factical life through his interest in Greek thought and its concern with Being.
He contends that Heidegger's existential concerns about human life and his ontological concerns about the meaning of Being crystallize in the notion of Dasein as the Being of factical human life.

Emphasizing the positive aspects of everydayness, Campbell explores the contexts of meaning embedded within life; the intensity of average, everyday life; the temporal immediacy of life in early Christianity; the hermeneutic pursuit of life's self-alienation; factical spatiality; the temporalizing of history within life; the richness of the world; and the facticity of speaking in Plato and Aristotle. He shows how Heidegger presents a way of grasping human life as riddled with deception but also charged with meaning and open to revelation and insight. MsSVig

Deba Brata SenSharma - Aspects of Tantra Yoga

    The OCR version of: http://theoccult.bz/details.php?id=45322

    Back of the Book

The distinguishing feature of all schools of Indian philosophy in general is that these do not remain content with merely enunciating the metaphysical tenets of the particular school, but they also set up the spiritual goal before the seekers, prescribing the modes of spiritual discipline to reach it. Spiritual discipline or Yoga therefore constitutes an inseparable part of the philosophy of every school. This is very true especially in the case of Tantric school. This is very true especially in the case of tantric schools, in which spiritual practices or sadhana kriya dominate. The performance of kriya in the prescribed manner forms an integral part of all texts dealing with Tantra Yoga.

This book opens with an account of the nature, origin and development of Saiva-Sakta Tantras, their classification under different schools, etc. It also sheds light on the principal metaphysical tenets of Saiva and Sakta Tantras, relevant to the study of Tantra-Yoga. The topics covered in this book are the concepts of divine Grace or saktipata, guru and his different kinds, the process of initiation(diksa) and its varieties, mantra's nature and place in sadhana kriya, different modes of spiritual discipline, Kundalini Yoga, the highest spiritual goal, etc.

This book attempts to remove the misconceptions widespread in the academic world about the theory and practice of Tantra Yoga, which have been deliberately kept secret by the practitioners to prevent their misuse by unscrupulous persons.

Dr. Debabrata Sen Sharma, a well-known scholar of Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy and Religion, has spent more than half a century in studying, teaching and writing on the Advaita Shaiva thought of Kashmir. Retired as Professor of Sanskrit and Director of the Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies from the Kurukshetra University of Haryana, now settled down in Kolkata, he is devoting all his time to read in depth, write and translate Sanskrit texts on Shaivism. He had the rare privilege of studying abstruse Sanskrit texts on Shaivism and Tantra with Mahamahopadhyaya Dr. Gopinath Kaviraj, an acknowledged authority on Saiva-Sakta Tantras and a spiritual master, for eight long years at Varanasi. Lilian Silburn, Andre Padoux - Abhinavagupta - La Lumiere Sur Les Tantras (Chapitre 1 a 5 du Tantraloka) (2000) (French)

This is an OCR version of http://theoccult.bz/details.php?id=45323

    English description:

This is a French translation of the chapters 1-5 of Tantraloka by Abhinavagupta.

This translation is the last part of the stunning work by Lilian Silburn, the great Abhinavagupta specialist. For years she wanted to Tantraloka translation with commentary Jayaratha.

This essential knowledge of Kashmir Shaivism Treaty shall be composed of twelve volumes. Given the magnitude of the task, Lilian Silburn focused on the first five chapters. The first chapter is general and introductory, the next four chapters deal with four lanes. The reader will find the foundation, the essence of any introduction to Real.

Light on the Tantras is a significant work of Abhinavagupta, the great Kashmiri master who lived in the late tenth century and early eleventh century. The philosopher had integrated both knowledge of a Brahmin scholar, traditional systems of thought and Buddhist thought. But Abhinavagupta was primarily Shiva, a non-dualistic Tantric current. In this text, he speaks of the Tantric approach, he talks about ways of awakening, and we share his profound experience of the Real. This book is an indispensable reference for approaching one of the most elaborate of Shaivism currents. You will find in this book include a lot of teaching on the metaphysics of letters which is the basis of both the cosmogony that Saiva practices, internal alchemy to the daily rituals.
