The word pratyabhijna means recognition. All individuals are divine, but they have forgotten their real nature and are identified with their psycho-physical mechanisms. This teaching is meant to enable them to recognize their real nature. It offers the spiritual practice through which they can realize their true Selves.

This book occupies the same place in Saiva or Trika literature that Vedantasara does in Vedanta. It avoids all polemics and gives a succinct form for the main tenents of the Pratyabhijna system.

About the Author

Ksemaraja lived in Tenth Century Shrinagar. He was the brilliant student of the great Abhinavagupta who was a peerless master of tantra, yoga, philosophy, and poetics. In addition to Pratyabhijnahrdayam, Ksemaraja wrote Spandasandoha, Spandanirnaya, Svacchandoddyota, Netroddyota, Vijnnabhairavoddyota, Sivasutra-vimarsaini, Stavacinmanka, Parapravesaika, and Tattvasandoha.

The first step of creating this book came into fruition at a meeting in Prague with Bardon’s favourite student, Dr. MK. My friend Anion gave Dr. MK a gift of a crow quill pen while asking him if he would write a description of the 4th Tarot Card. Dr. M.K.’s words were: “you could write it yourself! You are qualified to do so, aren’t you?”

For my friend and mentor, these words meant a direct commission to write this book. The fact that he is truly qualified since his writing style is identical to Bardon's. Every true and advanced hermetic magician, such as Seila Orienta, is enabled to accurately read the works of Master Arion in the Akasha Chronicles. The theosophist Franz Hartmann describes the procedure of reading in the Akashic Chronicles in his book “An Adventure amongst Rosicrucians.”

I wish the reader much joy and success in gathering the wealth of knowledge contained within the pages of this book.

Biography

Lawrence LeShan published his first professional paper in 1942. Since then he has authored over 150 papers and 20 books, which have been translated into 19 languages. He holds a PhD in Human development from the University of Chicago, has taught at various universities and has lectured and given seminars widely in this country, Europe and elsewhere. He has worked as a research psychologist for over 60 years including six years as a psychologist in the U.S. Army.

This essay is about the goddess Kubjika. The cult of this obscure goddess compared with that of the much better known goddess Kali, and references are occasionally provided to the goddess Tripura. The latter, like Kubjika, figures prominently right from the start of her history in the Sakta Kaula Tantras, the former emerges initially in the Bhairava Tantras but soon becomes a member of the Kaula pantheon. For those interested in Nepalese studies an important common feature of these three goddesses and their ectypes is the central position they have held for several centuries in the esoteric Tantrism of high-caste Hindu Newars as their lineage (kula) deities. Thus the aim of this paper is twofold. One is to present a general overview of some salient features of the typology ot these forms of the sacred. The other is to present a brief introduction to Newar Saktism as the context in which the goddess Kubjika has been worshipped for most of her history. "Mark S. G. Biography

Baba Hari Dass was initiated in the Vairagi Vaishnava order in 1942 by Baba Raghubar Dassji Maharaj, a renunciate and Sanskrit scholar. Baba Hari Dass has practiced continual silence since 1952, and has developed a deep understanding and compassion for the human condition. Born in a village near Almora, India, he was classically trained in the authentic traditions of yoga that have been passed from guru to disciple over thousands of years. Babaji teaches through writing and by example. Babaji and his teachings have inspired several yoga centers and children's schools. Baba Hari Dass receives no money from the sale of his books; his publications are dedicated instead to the needy and homeless children of India.

The Yoga Primer has served as an inspiration and light to my yoga practice for the past 20 years. It is a rare and precious offering from a true yoga master that goes to the pure heart of the essence of the 8 limbed path. As a shining example of karma yoga, all proceeds from the sale of this book (and all books by Baba Hari Dass) go to support an orphanage in India.This gem of a book offers teachings on many aspects of yoga practice. It has great photos and some of the best descriptions of asana benefits that I have read anywhere. It further teaches extensive practices that support asana practice such as shat karmas (internal cleansing) and mudras (exercises to raise the kundalini energy). The section on chakras clearly defines the path kundalini takes as it rises. One section is devoted to pranayamas which not only help with the ultimate aim of quieting the mind so it can rest in it's true nature of peace, but also reduce negative emotions and increase the prana (subltle air) which uplifts the mind and enrgizes the body. For the devotional types, there is a lovely description of arati and graceful hand mudras to enhance the worship aspect of your practice. Qin Bowei (1901-1970) was one of the most respected physicians of twentieth-century China. • Disk 1: Achaya Series, 1-5

1.Part 1: This program begins with Srila Prabhupada chanting japa on his tulsi mala, or japa beads early in the morning followed by his daily early morning walk in a park accompanied by many of his disciples and guests. Then the is a wonderful Hare Krishna kirtan and an inspiring Srimad-Bhagavatam class. Then there are some very candid moments with Srila Prabhuapda and his disciples as they record him singing bhajans and playing mridanga in a recording studio. This is followed by an informal talk on the grass at New Vrindavan, the Hare Krishna farm community in West Virginia, with disciples and some parents of disciples, the program concludes with Srila Prabhupada giving a wonderful discourse on the meaning of real love.

2.Part 2: This program includes an interview with Srila Prabhupada in a television news studio, a press and radio and television news conference at an airport, and Srila Prabhupada discussing the difference between theology and theosophy with a group of about 20 university professors from UCLA in Los Angeles. A very interesting and challenging theological presentation.

3.Part 3: This program includes a lively discussion with a high-ranking french priest in Paris. The priest is drinking wine during the interview and can not see the benefit of a vegetarian lifestyle. Srila Prabhupada stresses the importance of not killing cows. Even if one is a meat eater, that is not so bad. But cow killing is very, very bad. The program also contains a very interesting and humorous conversation between Srila Prabhupada and two lawyers in Melbourne, Australia. These lawyers were representing the Hare Krishna devotees in a court case, which they won, and the facts of the case are very amusing indeed...

4.Part 4: This program focuses on Srila Prabhupada's daily devotional practices with his disciples. It starts with Srila Prabhupada and some of his leading disciples on Srila Prabhupada's daily morning work on a beach in Los Angeles followed by the Hare Krishna morning temple program and Srila Prabhupada giving Srimad-Bhagavtam class to the devotees and then a wonderful Hare Krishna kirtan, plus many other interesting features.

5.Part 5: This program includes many short segments, starting Srila Prabhupada's morning walk, followed by Prabhupada discussing Krishna consciousness with a university professor, a conversation with Srila Prabhupada in his garden at New Dwarka, Los Angeles, a talk to Prabhupada's leading disciples about book printing and book distribution, and very interesting conversation between Srila Prabhupada and a social worker and this program concluds with Srila Prabhupada discussing Krishna consciousness with a psychologist.

The distinguishing feature of all schools of Indian philosophy in general is that these do not remain content with merely enunciating the metaphysical tenets of the particular school, but they also set up the spiritual goal before the seekers, prescribing the modes of spiritual discipline to reach it. Spiritual discipline or Yoga therefore constitutes an inseparable part of the philosophy of every school. This is very true especially in the case of Tantric school. This is very true especially in the case of tantric schools, in which spiritual practices or sadhana kriya dominate. The performance of kriya in the prescribed manner forms an integral part of all texts dealing with Tantra Yoga.

This book opens with an account of the nature, origin and development of Saiva-Sakta Tantras, their classification under different schools, etc. It also sheds light on the principal metaphysical tenets of Saiva and Sakta Tantras, relevant to the study of Tantra-Yoga. The topics covered in this book are the concepts of divine Grace or saktipata, guru and his different kinds, the process of initiation(diksa) and its varieties, mantra's nature and place in sadhana kriya, different modes of spiritual discipline, Kundalini Yoga, the highest spiritual goal, etc.

This book attempts to remove the misconceptions widespread in the academic world about the theory and practice of Tantra Yoga, which have been deliberately kept secret by the practitioners to prevent their misuse by unscrupulous persons.

Dr. Debabrata Sen Sharma, a well-known scholar of Sanskrit and Indian Philosophy and Religion, has spent more than half a century in studying, teaching and writing on the Advaita Shaiva thought of Kashmir. Retired as Professor of Sanskrit and Director of the Institute of Sanskrit and Indological Studies from the Kurukshetra University of Haryana, now settled down in Kolkata, he is devoting all his time to read in depth, write and translate Sanskrit texts on Shaivism.
