    Book Description
Simone Weil writes on the subject of uprootedness and calls for a rediscovery of spiritual roots. She deals with the needs of the soul, discussing order, liberty, obedience, responsibility and finishing with the need for truth.

    Amazon Review
    Saintly Beauty
Simone Weil's "The Need For Roots" demonstrates the purest understanding of Christ's teaching that I have ever come across. One need not be religious to grasp or identify with this brilliant work.

This book is held together by Christ's beatitudes, parables and prayers as a way of emphasizing the need for spirituality, not organized religion, in our lives. Weil insists on vital obligations of the soul (all of which are explained in brief detail) and the importance of spirituality and self-respect in all things.

According to Weil, everything we do is to be approached with the same intense religiosity that pervaded ancient Greek culture. Love of money and glory have buried spirituality in modern societies world-wide. One of Weil's many solutions was to completely reexamine the uses of education in order to instill this spiritual understanding of human existence.

As with all great thinkers, there are countless facets of Weil's thought. The Need For Roots, therefore, is not an easy read. I found myself reading over sentences and paragraphs several times-not out of frustration, but out of an imense craving to fully understand the saintly beauty of her words.

Those who make the effort to read this book attentively will come away with a powerful, fresh perspective of life, including an understanding of the necessity of both joy and pain. Anyone with a soul should read this book. MsSVig

    Constructing The Universe:
    A Journey From 1 to 12

This DVD is the perfect companion for Constructing The Universe Activity Books Volumes 1, 2 and 6 and the Constructing the Universe Book. All with the highest of recommendations by me.

Learn to read the language of simple
    numbers and shapes in nature,
    science, technology and symbolism.

After 3 years of holding classes and workshops for adults in the Constructing The Universe Classroom
Michael Schneider has gathered the materials presented regarding the numbers 1 through 12
then organized and re-narrated them into a DVD nearly 4 hours long!

    FRONT COVER:
Learn to read the language of simple
    numbers and shapes in nature,
    science, technology and symbolism.

    BACK COVER:
The Universe may be a mystery
    but it’s not a secret!

Traditional philosophers since Pythagoras have taught that numbers and their shapes are at the heart of everything. Galileo pointed out that the universe is like a great book written in an alphabet of simple shapes like circles, triangles, squares and spirals. By noticing numbers and shapes and understanding their principles we gain insight into the patterns of nature as well as the symbols of religion, mythology and art.  And we only need to look at the mathematics of the numbers 1 through 12 to begin to appreciate the order and harmonious (including human) designs of this vast, beautifully embroidered Cosmos.

Michael Schneider narrates this four-hour philosophical journey across the landscapes of twelve numbers, shapes and principles of this universal alphabet. Abundantly illustrated with examples from mathematics, nature, art, science, technology, music, architecture, philosophy, religion, mythology and symbolism across cultures, we see how the same numbers, shapes, principles, patterns and proportions appear in widely different places for surprisingly similar reasons.

The twelve numbers naturally form four groups:
    First Principles: 1 & 2
    Numbers of Structure: 3, 4, 6, 8, 12
    Numbers of Life: 5 & 10
    Numbers of Mystery: 7, 9, 11

Whether this is new to you or you've been studying these ideas for a while, you'll find something interesting to ponder. Come let simple numbers and shapes help open your eyes to the wonder of the ordinary!

This DVD wasn’t made directly for youngsters but for adults who might enjoy seeing a philosophical approach to numbers, culture and the universe.
It's a modern take on traditional mathematical cosmology weaving numbers, shapes, proportions, nature, art, mythology and symbolism into a whole united by mathematics.
I think it would be a bit much for most youngsters, although there are some sections they might enjoy seeing.
Perhaps high schoolers with an interest in math and these ideas might appreciate it.

There's alot packed into these four hours. I recommend you watch your favorite numbers unfold slowly, in whatever size bite is digestible to you.
Watch only one or two numbers at a time, or just parts of one number. A lot emerges from simplicity.

"This document is intended to spread the seed of a numinous causal form, as defined by the Order of Nine Angles. It describes, or suggests, the principles upon which a League—a competition—appropriate to the New Aeon could be developed. It is, in short, a blessing and a curse: an opportunity for those who can rise to one of the greatest possible challenges at this stage in our human evolution to do so, and a scourge upon all cowards and poseurs who enjoy the image but are not the reality of that higher mode of
being which is a prerequisite to playing this Game."

The Secret of the Golden Phallus: Male Erotic Alchemy for the 21st Century

This book can transform how you see yourself and can even change your life. Major taboos remain around male genitals and eroticism, taboos that you must dissolve in order to reclaim who and what you really are. It is time on our rapidly changing planet to merge the erotic with the sacred, and for you to reclaim your body as a temple. Revealed here as never before, is the authentic phallic wisdom of Male Erotic Alchemy for too long deliberately obscured by the dominant cultures. Ancient wisdom combines with cutting-edge practices that are simple, yet powerful tools you can actually use. The Triple God concept and the three forms of Male Solo Sex Magick will unleash your creative, sustaining, and regenerative powers. You are encouraged to honestly embrace your own phallus and enhanced erotic ecstasy as the legitimate core of your male identity. The Secret of the Golden Phallus will help you to become a happier, healthier, more balanced man.

How we see ourselves affects the way we live and that is a fact. The world is full of taboos and no no’s about male genitals and we must find a way to break away from those ideas. Eroticism has been in a world of its own; in its own category and while we might think of our bodies as temples, we do not often see a way to unite spirituality with eroticism. It has not always been this way and if we look into earlier societies, we see the worship of the penis to be tantamount and there was no shame associated with it. The male god has usually been supreme and ancient wisdom puts great respect on the penis. This book encourages each of us to embrace our penis and thereby enjoy eroticism as the focus of male identity.

We learn a new way of experiencing and exploring consciousness and to way to do this is through the penis. Knowing how to approach this is all here and using tantra, you may find just what you are looking for.
Praise for The Secret of the Golden Phallus:

Subject: The Secret of the Golden Phallus

I have now read the above book by Bruce P. Grether. Hey, this is gospel. This is "good news". The worshipful, mindful practice is there and it is backed up with mythology (in the vein of Joseph Campbell) which adds depth and a spiritual flavor. And there is more. That cosmic Oneness and a Blakeian mysticism as in "To see the universe in penis and experience eternity in the palm of your hand". And this, of course, brings us full circle back to the practice of male erotic alchemy itself. The material and immaterial worlds are fused, perhaps even one and the same. Good news, indeed.

    —Robert Packard

The Secret of the Golden Phallus has opened my eyes to the possibility of true healing. I have spent so long looking outside of myself for something that could help connect me to the Divine. I now realize it was right between my legs the entire time! I think I found my blue flower...

—Nils C. Taranger II, director of A Blue Flower

In this frank, informative, and life-enhancing work, Bruce Grether, serves as a savvy guide and intrepid crusader, one who uses at-the-ready humor and a vibrant, sweeping sense of esoteric knowledge and long-suppressed tradition, to celebrate the divine masculine on earth. Erotic alchemy and phallic power, these are sacred, masculine avenues, Grether makes convincingly clear, eminently worth exploring and reclaiming. For spiritual and sensual seekers, this is an intriguing, impressive, and ultimately liberating book. Don’t miss it!

    — Cyrus Cassells, author of Beautiful Signor

Imperial Manchu support and patronage of Buddhism, particularly in Mongolia and Tibet, has often been dismissed as cynical political manipulation. Empire of Emptiness questions this generalization by taking a fresh look at the huge outpouring of Buddhist painting, sculpture, and decorative arts Qing court artists produced for distribution throughout the empire. It examines some of the Buddhist underpinnings of the Qing view of rulership and shows just how central images were in the carefully reasoned rhetoric the court directed toward its Buddhist allies in inner Asia.

The multilingual, culturally fluid Qing emperors put an extraordinary range of visual styles into practice--Chinese, Tibetan, Nepalese, and even the European Baroque brought to the court by Jesuit artists. Their pictorial, sculptural, and architectural projects escape easy analysis and raise questions about the difference between verbal and pictorial description, the ways in which overt and covert meaning could be embedded in images through juxtaposition and collage, and the collection and criticism of paintings and calligraphy that were intended as supports for practice and not initially as works of art.

"All scholars of the Qianlong era, of early modern Mongol studies, of Tibetan Buddhism, and of pre-modern China studies will find the book indispensable." --- Pamela Crossley, Dartmouth College

Magic and Impotence in the Middle Ages investigates the common medieval belief that magic could cause impotence, focusing particularly on the period 1150-1450. The subject has never been studied in detail before, but there is a surprisingly large amount of information about it in four kinds of source: confessors' manuals; medical compendia that discussed many illnesses; commentaries on canon law; and theological commentaries on the Sentences of Peter Lombard. Although most historians of medieval culture focus on only one or two of these kinds of source, a broader comparison reveals that medieval writers held surprisingly diverse opinions about what magic was, how it worked, and whether it was ever legitimate to use it.

Medieval discussions of magically caused impotence also include a great deal of information about magical practices, most of which have not been studied before. In particular, these sources say a great deal about popular magic, a subject which has been particularly neglected by historians because the evidence is scanty and difficult to interpret. Magic and Impotence makes new information about popular magic available for the first time.

Magic and Impotence also examines why the authors of legal, medical, and theological texts were so interested in popular magical practices relating to impotence. It therefore uses magically caused impotence as a case-study to explore the relationship between elite and popular culture. In particular, this study emphasizes the importance of the thirteenth-century pastoral reform movement, which sought to enforce more orthodox religious practices. Historians have often noted that this movement brought churchmen into contact with popular beliefs, but this is the first study to demonstrate the profound effect it had on theological and legal ideas about magic.

The Buddha from Dolpo: A Study of the Life and Thought of the Tibetan Master Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen
    Suny Series, Buddhist Studies

Publisher: State University of New York Press (May 27, 1999)

The Buddha from Dolpo examines the life and thought of the Tibetan Buddhist master, Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen (1292- 1361). Known as "The Buddha from Dolpo," he was one of the most important and original thinkers in Tibetan history, and perhaps the greatest expert on the tantric teachings of the Kalacakra or "Wheel of Time." Based largely upon esoteric Buddhist knowledge believed to be preserved in the legendary land of Shambhala, Dolpopa's theories continue to excite controversy in Tibetan Buddhism after almost 700 years.

Dolpopa emphasized two contrasting definitions of the Buddhist teachings of emptiness: "emptiness of self-nature," which applies only to the level of relative truth, and "emptiness of other," which applies only to the level of absolute truth. Dolpopa identified ultimate reality as the Buddha-nature inherent in all living beings. This view of an "emptiness of other," known in Tibetan as Zhentong, is Dolpopa's main spiritual legacy.

This book contains the first translations into any language of major works by Dolpopa. A General Commentary on the Doctrine is one of the earliest texts in which he systematically presented his view of the entire Buddhist path to enlightenment. The Fourth Council, written at the end of his life, may be viewed as a final summation of his ideas.

Cyrus Stearns's book describes both Dolpopa's life and his ideas. Earlier Tibetan precedents for the Zhentong view are also discussed, as well as Dolpopa's own unique use of language and the major influences on the development of his controversial theories. The fate of his tradition, which was censured by the Tibetan government in the seventeenth century, is examined, and several of the most important adherents to the Zhentong theory are also discussed. Permutations of the Tree:

    Permutations of the The 182

Gates of the Gra Tree of Life

    By Rawn Clark

The ancient Kabbalists wrote of “permuting the Letters”, a process of combining pairs of Hebrew Letters with vowel sounds and uttering them to generate mystical and magical effects. Franz Bardon, in his book The Key to the True Quabbalah, wrote of combining the utterance of letter sounds with the creative imagination of color and feeling, also to generate mystical and magical effects. In this book, I describe a different approach — permuting the Tree itself. This also combines the Letters but instead of speaking the Letters, the practitioner becomes the Letters and thus “utters” them with their whole being. The traditional techniques of permuting the Letters require decades of study as a prerequisite and in Judaic Kabbalah they are the sole purview of men. On the other hand, the technique of Permuting the Tree that I present here is non-exclusive and does not require any foreknowledge of Kabbalistic terminology, philosophy, etc. The only thing required is your creative imagination. I present to you in these pages the Tree of Life stripped of all its jargon and transformed into a truly useable tool, a map of the structure of Being that will easily lead you along a journey into Self. The message of the Tree of Life is that there is One Self and every thing that exists is an aspect of The One Self. Furthermore, the One Self exists equally within each of the infinite number of things that exist. It says that every thing is directly connected through the immanence of the One Self. It says that each thing can find the infinite by merely looking within its own self. And, it says that there is no need for an intermediary, no need to rely upon what someone else sees . . .

Temple of THEM (Ryan Anschauung)- The Physis of The Sinister

"‘The Physis of the Sinister’ is the culmination of eighteen years of working heuristically and with groups, forms and individuals related to the Sinister in all its variations. It represents my purest distillation of almost two decades of research and living, condensing my phenomenological exploration with respected sciences and disciplines as well as fringe and occult ideologies.

‘Physis’ is my grand theory of how our transition from non-being to being has had a profound effect on all humanity and how our origin, grounded in a primal experience of fear, is responsible for every example of architecture both inner and outer that covers or concerns our world."

    CONTENTS:

On The Physis of the Sinister (Introduction)

The Physis of the Sinister (Part One) - Narrowing the Sinister V.01

Universal Psychic Trauma and the Genesis of Fear
    Sinister-Cyber-Phobia: Man Vs. Machine
    Chronocentric  Acceleration
    The Multifacets Of Morbidity
The Tragedy Of Independent Causal Lifelines Of Freed Perspective
    Edges Of The Sinister

    Bi-Obstruction Syndrome -
The Physical, Emotional, & Spiritual Aspects of Pain with Jeffrey Yuen

This is a high quality recording of the MAS Jeffrey Yuen Seminar presented on November 18-19, 2007, on the treatment of Bi-Obstruction Syndrome, one of the most common conditions encountered in modern acupuncture practice. Fifty percent of the profits from the sale of these CD's goes to benefit the International Tai Chi Association. The set comes in a vinyl case with CDs in sleeves - can sit on your bookshelf or be easily carried!. An outline of the tracks on paper is included with the set, which contains 9 CDs! See the description of the original seminar for more information:

Bi-Obstruction Syndrome is one of the most common conditions encountered in modern acupuncture practice. Its etiology can originate from climatic exposures, pestilent factors (e.g., Lyme's disease), humoral disruptions, and anatomical injuries. In addition, sometimes bi-obstruction syndrome can develop as part of a progression of an unresolved pathogenic process.

Ranging from acute phases to chronic conditions – at times debilitating during its manifestations or flare-ups – the successful treatment of bi-obstruction syndrome can be considered crucial to a successful acupuncture practice.

This two-day workshop will focus on the treatment of bi-obstruction from numerous approaches, drawing upon the interpretations from the Nei Jing, the specialty of Wai Ke(Specialty of External Medicine), the channel systems of acupuncture, and the theories of Chinese Medicine.
In addition, information will be presented on the emotional and spiritual aspects of pain and its role within the human condition.
During the two-day seminar, the following topics are covered:

    Day One, 10am-5pm:

    • Introduction to Bi-Obstruction & Its Etiology
    • Based on the Nei Jing
    • Based on Channel Systems
    • Wai Ke & Its Doctrines
    • Based on the Song Imperial Medical Academy
    • Based on Its Strategies
    • Notion of Pestilent Qi & Bi-Obstruction
    • Concept of Fu-Lurking Qi
    • Bi-Obstruction as a Dynamic of Preventing Internalization of Pathogens

    Day Two, 9am-5pm:

    • Blood Stagnation in Bi-Obstruction
    • Role of the Emotions
    • Impact of Social Conditioning
    • Treatment Strategies of Bi-Obstruction
    • Implications from the Channel Systems
    • Cardinal Focus for Treatment Efficacy
    • Treatment Management for Chronic Conditions
    • Spiritual Aspects of Pain
    • As Resistance & Stagnation
    • As Non-Liberating Memory
    • As Grace

Jeffrey Yuen comes from a Daoist lineage and is an ordained priest of two traditions of Daoism, the Jade Purity and Complete Reality schools. Jeffrey serves as Dean of Academic Affairs of the Acupuncture Program at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences and President of the International Tai Chi Institute, both in New York City. Mr. Yuen was the first recipient of the Educator of the Year Award conferred by the AAAOM. He lectures frequently nationally and abroad. Recently, a post-graduate center for Chinese medicine was created in Dublin, Ireland devoted to his teachings of Classical Chinese Medicine.

E.J. Lowe - An Introduction to The Philosophy of Mind

    E. J. Lowe offers a lucid and wide-ranging introduction to the philosophy of mind. Using a problem-centered approach designed to stimulate as well as instruct, he begins with a general examination of the mind-body problem and moves on to more specific issues including perception, rationality, action and self-knowledge. His discussion is distinctive in giving equal attention to deep metaphysical questions concerning the mind and to the discoveries and theories of modern scientific psychology. It will be of interest to any reader with a basic grounding in modern philosophy.

Exquisite work by polish author Lowmianski, exploring in depth the religious system and beliefs of ancient Slavs.  It explores the problem of prototheism in religion of the Slavs, and goes through the pantheons of all now known Slavic groups, such as Eastern, Southern Slavs etc. , all the way to the christianization of Slavic tribes and bringing about that new religion, which was never able to fully substitute that old one, due to the essential difference in spirit and morality, or lack of it.
This book is in Serbian language. MsSVig
